PK preached a very amazing sermon on sat regarding Christianity & the Chinese. Seeing how it all unfolds almost made me tear.
I'm proud to be a part of a race that has its roots leading back to 上帝.

Court-ordered Notice Re Class Action Settlement: Uncoated Apple First Generation iPod nanos
I received this today and it shocked me when I 1st read the title. But then I realised that it has nothing to do with me since I do not reside in US... :/
So drama-mama man... Almost seems like it came out of a book I read not so long ago - The King of Torts. And so indeed what the author wrote is so real. So uncommon in Singapore but I guess that's life in the US...
IF YOU PURCHASED AN UNCOATED APPLE FIRST GENERATION IPOD NANO, YOU COULD GET BENEFITS FROM A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT.
A proposed settlement of a consolidated class action lawsuit affects you if you purchased in the United States a new uncoated Apple First Generation iPod nano (referred to here as the “iPod nano”). These iPod nanos were first sold beginning in September 2005, and have a black or white plastic front and a stainless steel back. Some but not all of the First Generation iPod nanos were uncoated. The settlement will provide cash payments to qualified purchasers. To qualify for settlement benefits, you must have purchased in the United States a new uncoated First Generation iPod nano and experienced scratching of your iPod nano that impaired your use or enjoyment of your iPod nano. The Superior Court of the State of California, County of Los Angeles authorized this Notice. The Court will have a hearing to consider whether to approve the settlement.
Who’s Affected?
You’re a “Class Member” if you purchased in the United States a new uncoated First Generation Apple iPod nano for your own use and not for resale.
What’s this About?
The lawsuit claimed that the First Generation iPod nano contained a defect that resulted in excessive scratching. Apple denies all allegations and has asserted many defenses. The Parties are entering into this settlement to avoid burdensome and costly litigation. The settlement is not an admission of wrong-doing or an indication that any law was violated.
What can you Get from the Settlement?
Apple has agreed to provide a cash settlement fund of $22.5 million (the “Fund”). The Fund shall include all payments or other consideration to the Settlement Class; Class Counsel’s attorneys’ fees and expenses; any incentive fees to named Plaintiffs; and all administration costs and costs of notice. To be eligible for a payment from the Fund, you must have experienced scratching of your iPod nano that impaired your use or enjoyment of it. If you did not receive a slip case from Apple when you purchased your iPod nano, you may be entitled to a cash payment of $25. If you received a slip case, you may be entitled to a cash payment of $15. The cash payments to claimants may be increased or decreased depending on the number of claims submitted. There is a limit of one cash payment per iPod nano. Any monies that remain in the Fund after payment of fees and expenses, and after payment of awards to claimants, will be distributed to a charity or charities approved by the Court.

Excellent Workout
I had a great BodyCombat session just now.
Thoroughly vented all my frustrations n had a nice hot bath afterwards. Standing below running steamy water, it's as if the world stopped revolving.
What an enjoyable evening.
Reality starts again in 10hrs time. :/

The most Unfortunate thing...
Someone gave up her seat for me on the MRT just now.
*sigh*
It has definitely got to be the baby-doll top that I wore PLUS the auntie-sh things that I was carrying. And the auntie way that I strapped everything over my hand to read my 8-Days. I guess this comes with age too. =(
Thank God she didn't like beckon me to take the seat. And it was NOT the priority seat. So I sat down anyway. Ha.
But trust me, it'll be a long long long long LONG time b4 I ever wear that top ever again.
There goes another of my wear-able office tops.
*sigh*

My office building was on fire...
Yes.
After the numerous false alarms, it was REAL this morning.
I actually had to walk down 41(!!!) storeys.
And now I'm back in with TONS of urgent last minute work just been assigned to me.
What a day.

it's just the beginning...
i could hardly get up this morning. it's those kind of weariness that makes it almost impossible to even open my eyes.
AND it's only the 8th day of 2009, the 5th working day. things are piling at a crazy rate. my colleague just resigned. i'm not even thinking about taking leave for CNY. i just want a break from work.
the 1st 2 weeks of Jan are most precious to us from CHC. yet i've "wasted" it away working.
我累了...

Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea
Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (崖の上のポニョ, Gake no Ue no Ponyo) is a 2008 animated film by the Japanese anime studio Studio Ghibli, written and directed by famed anime filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. It is Miyazaki's ninth film for Ghibli. The plot centers on a baby fish/mermaid in the sea named Ponyo who becomes a human girl. In pursuing her goal, she befriends a five-year-old human boy, Sōsuke.
The plot is centered on a 'fish girl', or mermaid, who runs away from her home in the sea. She ends up stranded on the shore and is rescued by Sōsuke, a five year old boy who lives on a cliff. After taking a great liking to her, Sōsuke names her Ponyo and vows to protect her forever. Meanwhile, her father Fujimoto is looking for his daughter, upset that she ran away. He calls his wave demons to return Ponyo to him. Sōsuke is heartbroken by this, and goes home with his mother, Lisa, who tries to cheer him up, but to no avail.
Ponyo and her father have a confrontation, where Ponyo refuses to let her father call her Brünnhilde and declares she is Ponyo, and voices her desire to become human, because she has started to fall in love with Sōsuke. Her father silences her with difficulty and goes to summon Ponyo's mother. Meanwhile, Ponyo, with the help of her sisters, breaks away from her father, and uses his magic to make herself human. This causes an imbalance in the world, which in turn results in a huge storm. Riding on the waves of the storm, Ponyo goes back to visit Sōsuke. Lisa, Sōsuke, and Ponyo stay the night at Sōsuke's house, hoping the storm will be over, whereupon Lisa leaves the house to check up on the residents of the nursing home she works at.
Granmammare, Ponyo's mother, arrives at Fujimoto's submarine. Fujimoto notices the moon has come out of its orbit and the satellites are falling like shooting stars. Granmammare declares that if Sōsuke and Ponyo pass a test, Ponyo can live as a human and the world order will be restored.
Sōsuke and Ponyo wake up to find that most of the land has been submerged. Lisa has not come home yet, so with the help of Ponyo's magic, they make Sōsuke's toy boat life-size and set out to find Lisa. While traveling they see ancient extinct fish swimming, such as the Gogonasus.
After landing and finding Lisa's empty car, Ponyo and Sōsuke go through a tunnel. There Ponyo loses her human form and resumes the form of a fish. Sōsuke and Ponyo are captured by Fujimoto and they safely arrive at the nursing home and meet Granmammare. Granmammare asks Sōsuke if he can love Ponyo even if she is a fish or mermaid. Sōsuke replies that he likes Ponyo in all forms. Granmammare then allows Ponyo to become human once Ponyo kisses Sōsuke on the surface.
